WATER & SEWER Attendant – COOTAMUNDRA (Full time)

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Water & Sewer Attendant to be based at our Bradman Street Depot, Cootamundra.

This role assists in day to day water & sewer operations, repairs and maintenance of Council’s water & sewage treatment plants, pump stations, reticulation systems, and reuse facilities.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  1. Ensures the efficient operation of the Water and Sewage Treatment Plants, pump stations, reticulation systems and reuse systems, through ongoing monitoring, maintenance & repairs, and construction.
  2. Ensures water sampling, testing and recording is undertaken to meet required standards of treated and recycled effluent.
  3. Ensures the grounds of the Water & Sewage Treatment Plants facility and related work areas are maintained and presented to required Council standard.
  4. Ensure that all activity undertaken at Plant worksites is conducted safely.
  5. Attend to sewer and water supply emergency calls, and ensure customer requests are attended to promptly and efficiently.
  6. Be available to respond to on-call activities on a rotating on-call roster.
  7. Deliver quality customer service to both internal/external customers.

  • Salary range of $976.52 to $1,142.52 gross per week.

  2. Attend off-the-job structured training as required by the Training Agreement for the Traineeship, and other short courses as identified.
  3. Participate in a team environment by performing tasks within the Waste, Parks & Gardens and Recreation Services Section.
  4. Deliver quality customer service to both external and internal customers.
  5. Abide by legislation and policy in regards to Work Health & Safety, Environmental, Equal Employment Opportunity, Privacy and the Local Government Act and regulations and authorising bodies.

Apprentice Mechanic PD – Operations

SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR – COOTAMUNDRA

Permanent Full Time

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above part time position of Senior Building Surveyor – Full Time, based at our Cootamundra Office.

This position is a technical advisory role to internal/external customers in development planning, building surveying and building compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assess and determine Development Applications and Part 4A Certificates for all classes of buildings appropriate to incumbent’s level of BPB Accreditation and delegations ensuring with the relevant statutory requirements, Council policies/procedures and complement the natural and built environment in the Cootamundra-Gundagai local government area.
  2. Ensure relevant statutes, Council objectives and policies are satisfied and enforced when performing inspections and evaluating other matters associated with existing and proposed development.
  3. Research, analyse and interpret relevant legislation, codes, policies, procedures and apply them in a practical context.
  4. Ensure customer enquiries, building status enquiries and complaint management are handled professionally in a courteous and efficient manner at all times.
  5. Maintain a current knowledge of building industry developments, practice and statutory responsibilities.

TOWN PLANNER – COOTAMUNDRA – Permanent Full Time

This position provides professional services and advice to a wide range of customers in relation to development control, land use and compliance matters in accordance with environmental and land use planning legislation.

Town Planner PD

TECHNICAL WORKS COORDINATOR– GUNDAGAI (Full time)

 Applications are invited from interested experienced persons for the full time vacancy of Technical Works Coordinator to be based at our Gundagai Depot.

This role is responsible for managing the effective scheduling, costing and technical control of the Council’s technical engineering crews and support units in order to ensure efficient day to day delivery of construction, maintenance and civil works services to meet Council’s objectives and requirements.  Complete construction and maintenance projects and programs for local roads, bridges and drainage infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Efficient and effective advance scheduling and coordination of construction and maintenance work schedules, project programs and work gangs to ensure the timely completion of works within approved budgets.
  2. Ensure crews and plant are effectively allocated to work programs and developing contingency plans to handle absence and change.
  3. Ensure quality, public relations, safety and environmental considerations, associated with engineering works are delivered effectively.
  4. Manage Vehicle and Plant Maintenance and Stores/Supply functions to ensure availability and serviceability on time and as required.
  5. Verify and check time and plant sheets for correct job cost allocations and complete performance appraisals in conjunction with the Manager, assessing staff and contractor performance.
  6. Day to day supervision of Team Leaders, Operators and their Construction/Maintenance crews/workers providing direction, support, conflict resolution, resource allocation, advice and on the job training.
