 DESIGN ENGINEER – GUNDAGAI (Full time)

 Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Design Engineer to be based at our Gundagai Office.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Investigate and design civil infrastructure projects in line with Council’s forwards works and delivery Program e.g. roads, parking, water, drainage and sewer systems.
  2. Provide quality construction and design drawings liaising with others involved to meet client and Council needs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  3. Complete onsite surveys and inspections as required.
  4. Please refer to the Position Description for additional responsibilities.

 Benefits

  • Salary range of $1449.70 to $1696.20 gross per week, plus Civil Liability Allowance. A Market Allowance may be negotiated for the right applicant.
  • 9.5% superannuation.
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement.

SURVEY & DESIGN OFFICER – GUNDAGAI (Full time)

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Survey & Design Officer based at our Gundagai Office.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Carry out detailed Engineering Surveys including construction set out using dumpy / automatic levels, theodolites, electronic distance measurement equipment, total station and other similar survey equipment.
  2. Complete Engineering Design Operations as required on rural roads, urban streets and other civil infrastructure.
  3. Develop and produce maps/plans as required.
  4. Ensure compliance with Councils Policies, Procedures, Systems and processes as well as legislative requirements relevant to the position. Including but not limited to Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunities and Code of Conduct.
  5. Any other duties as directed and considered relevant to the role and area of responsibility.

Benefits

  • Salary Range is $1,119.20 to $1,309.50 per week, dependant on experience & qualifications
  • 9.5% super guarantee levy payable by Council
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement (applicable to full time position).

SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR – COOTAMUNDRA (FULL TIME)

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Senior Building Surveyor based at our Gundagai Office.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assess and determine Development Applications and Part 4A Certificates for all classes of buildings appropriate to incumbent’s level of BPB Accreditation and delegations ensuring with the relevant statutory requirements, Council policies/procedures and complement the natural and built environment in the Cootamundra-Gundagai local government area.
  2. Ensure relevant statutes, Council objectives and policies are satisfied and enforced when performing inspections and evaluating other matters associated with existing and proposed development.
  3. Research, analyse and interpret relevant legislation, codes, policies, procedures and apply them in a practical context.
  4. Ensure customer enquiries, building status enquiries and complaint management are handled professionally in a courteous and efficient manner at all times.
  5. Maintain a current knowledge of building industry developments, practice and statutory responsibilities.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $1,670.30 to $1,954.20 gross per week. A Market Allowance may be negotiated for the right applicant.
  • 9.5% superannuation.

RANGER/REGULATORY OFFICER – COOTAMUNDRA

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Ranger/Regulatory Officer  to be based in Cootamundra.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Detection, investigation and enforcement with respect to parking and other areas, including litter control; illegal dumping; stray and companion animals; derelict or abandoned vehicles/articles; overgrown premises under intervention monitoring and illegal use of Councils property/assets.
  2. Provision of assistance through detection investigation and enforcement under relevant legislation including but not limited to Local Government Act and Regulations, Companion Animals Act and Protection of Environmental Operations Act and Regulations, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Regulations.
  3. Operational Management of the pound facility including cleaning and securing of pens and monitoring pound supplies.

Ranger Regulatory officer PD

CEMETERIES ATTENDANT/RANGER – GUNDAGAI

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full time position of Cemeteries Attendant/Ranger  to be based in Gundagai.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensures a high level of presentation of surroundings for mourners and visitors at Council cemeteries.
  2. Ensures graveside areas are prepared in co-operation with funeral directors in a timely and sensitive manner.
  3. Routinely clean Council’s public amenities to a high standard to provide hygienic facilities for the general public.
  4. Ensures grounds’ keeping at Council cemeteries complies with the Voluntary Conservation Agreements covering those locations.
  5. Ensure compliance with Council’s Work Health & Safety and Risk policies and procedures for the provision of worker and public safety.
  6. Assist and relieve Council’s Rangers to attend to compliance matters under the Companion Animals Act, POEI Act, Local Government Act, Impounding Act and Roads act and assist with dog control duties, pound maintenance and the welfare of impounded animals.
