TOURISM ADMINISTRATION TRAINEE

(Permanent – 2 Year Traineeship)

Applications are invited from interested applicants for a Tourism Administration Trainee – 2 Year duration. To be based at our Gundagai Visitor Information Office. 

This position will provide administrative support to the Community & Culture Section. Assists with the marketing and promotion of the local government area, the organisation of events and the development of interpretive materials whilst undertaking the on-the-job training component of a Certificate III in Events.

Key responsibilities include:

Undertake and successfully complete the requirements of a Certificate III in Events by Distance Learning including on-the-job training.

Assist in maintaining Council’s tourism information, including online and printed, to ensure quality and consistency.

Support events within the Council area, ensuring they are well supported and/or organised.

Provide administrative support to the operation of the VICs and the Community & Culture Section.

Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external customers.

Participate in and contribute to the team environment.

Benefits

Commencing rate is dependent upon age with range of $511.40 to $1045.90 per week

9.5% superannuation

9 day fortnight

 Tourism Administration – Trainee PD

 

SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR – COOTAMUNDRA

Permanent Full Time

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above part time position of Senior Building Surveyor – Full Time, based at our Cootamundra Office.

This position is a technical advisory role to internal/external customers in development planning, building surveying and building compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assess and determine Development Applications and Part 4A Certificates for all classes of buildings appropriate to incumbent’s level of BPB Accreditation and delegations ensuring with the relevant statutory requirements, Council policies/procedures and complement the natural and built environment in the Cootamundra-Gundagai local government area.
  2. Ensure relevant statutes, Council objectives and policies are satisfied and enforced when performing inspections and evaluating other matters associated with existing and proposed development.
  3. Research, analyse and interpret relevant legislation, codes, policies, procedures and apply them in a practical context.
  4. Ensure customer enquiries, building status enquiries and complaint management are handled professionally in a courteous and efficient manner at all times.
  5. Maintain a current knowledge of building industry developments, practice and statutory responsibilities.

  • Full time Salary range of $1,721.01 – $2,003.05 gross per week
  • 9.5% super guarantee levy payable by Council

Town Planner – COOTAMUNDRA

Permanent Full Time

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above part time position of Town Planner – Full Time, based at our Cootamundra Office.

This position provides professional services and advice to a wide range of customers in relation to development control, land use and compliance matters in accordance with environmental and land use planning legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensure efficient and timely determination of development application
  2. Prepare assessment reports for presentation to management, Council and Joint Regional Planning Panel as necessary
  3. Make recommendations for system improvements in order to achieve key position objectives
  4. Provide responses to planning, development and land use enquiries in a professional, timely manner

Benefits

  • Full time Salary range of $1,598.74 – $1,870.52 gross per week– pro-rata part time equivalent
  • 9.5% super guarantee levy payable by Council
  • Leaseback Vehicle.
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement.
