This is an opportunity for someone who is committed in delivering efficient and effective customer information services and programs within the Council libraries, including educating library users, and assisting patrons with facilities and equipment use.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Provide a high standard of customer service and promote the library’s resources and services.
  2. Maintain presentation of library resources.
  3. Follow safe work practices and procedures.
  4. Coordinate library book club program.
  5. Coordinate the reservation of the Stephen Ward Rooms.
  6. Liaise with Library Managers to organise a range of programs across both library locations.

Benefits:

  • Part time 35.5 hours/fortnight (includes 3 hours every Saturday morning)
  • Hourly range $35.15 to $41.12
  • 12% superannuation.

Library Services Officer PD

Essential & Desirable Criteria – Library Services Officer (PT)

WHS & RISK OFFICER – GUNDAGAI

Applications are invited from interested persons for the full time position of Work Health Safety & Risk Officer to be located in Gundagai.

This is a professional role that includes administering Council’s Workplace Health, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures, insurances, audits and registers.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensure Council’s policies and procedures in relation to Work Health and Safety and the management of public liability and risk comply with legislative requirements, reflect industry best practice and are consistent with AS/NZS ISO 13000:2209 Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines.
  2. Manage and administer Council’s suite of insurance policies.
  3. Develop and maintain Council’s asset data bases and registers for risk management, insurance, WHS and asset management purposes.
  4. Ensure periodic risk management, asset and WHS audits are routinely undertaken.
  5. Ensure employees and external contractors are inducted and trained in WHS policy and procedures and are informed of their responsibilities under the relevant legislation.
  6. Ensure public liability and WHS risks and hazards are controlled and minimized through continual monitoring and review of Council’s Risk Management and WHS policies and procedures.
  7. Perform the role of WHS Committee Secretary and promote a culture of continuous improvement in WHS awareness and practice at all levels within Council.

Benefits:

  • Salary range of $1,527.09 to $1,786.33 gross per week
  • 12% superannuation.
  • 9-day fortnight working arrangement.

WHS & Risk Officer – Gundagai PD

Essential & Desirable Criteria – WHS & Risk Officer

Council is looking for a keen and enthusiastic person, with a genuine interest in mechanics, to undertake a 4 year apprenticeship as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at our Cootamundra workshop.

The successful applicant will be working closely with qualified tradespersons to develop skills in all aspects of the mechanical trade. While assisting in servicing and general repairs, as well as working on various types of plant equipment and machinery.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  1. Provide support for works undertaken by the plant workshop team and the Engineering Department.
  2. Attend off-the-job structured training as required by the Training Agreement for the Apprenticeship, and other short courses as identified.
  3. Participate in a team environment by performing tasks within the Civil Works Department.
  4. Deliver quality customer service to both external and internal customers.
  5. Abide by legislation and policy in regards to Work Health & Safety, Environmental, Equal Employment Opportunity, Privacy and the Local Government Act and regulations and authorising bodies.

  • A commencement wage based on the Award Training Salary and dependent on age.
  • 12% superannuation.
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement.
