2024 Seniors Week Activities:

This week is for you. Call 1300 459 689 to book your spot at any one of the events below:

Saturday 9 March: The Kapooka Army Band is providing a free concert at Mirrabooka from 1pm following the Gundagai Producers Market starting at 9am in Carberry Park Gundagai.

Monday 11 March:  South Gundagai Cemetery History tour from 10am. Meet at the cemetery followed by Morning tea at the Gundagai Library. RSVP essential for catering purposes 69 440 270.

Tuesday 12 March: Become Tech Savvy on Your Smart Phone.  10am – Basic Android mobile phone workshop. 2pm – Basic iPhone mobile phone workshop in Gundagai library.

Wednesday 13 March:  Seniors Bus Tour starting at 10am. Meet at the Cootamundra Town Hall for an airconditioned, tour around the sights and developments in Cootamundra. Followed by morning tea at Bradman’s Birthplace Museum. RSVP essential for this event to ensure seat and catering numbers. Phone 1300 459 689. Gold coin donation.

Wednesday 13 March:  NSW Premier’s Senior’s Gala Concert will be live streamed at the Gundagai District Services Club from 2.45pm. Information at the club.

Thursday 14 March: Seniors Lunch and Entertainment at the Sheridan Room (Old Post Office building) Sheridan Street, Gundagai from 11.30am. Cost $10.00 per person and includes guest speaker Catherine Pratt from Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).

Thursday 14 March:  Stay Safe Online Free community workshop from 10.30am at the Alby Schultz Meeting Centre, Cooper Street Cootamundra. Morning tea provided. Bookings essential for catering purposes 69402200.

Friday 15 March:  Bus trip from Gundagai to Cootamundra for Croquet from 10am. Enquires to Gundagai Library or Mirrabooka.

Tuesday 19 March: Trove Family History at the Gundagai Library from 2pm. Enquires to Gundagai Library 69 440 270.

Wednesday 20 March: Seniors High Tea. It’s a Glitz and Glamour event at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club. Starting at 10am, you will be entertained with live music, guest speakers, senior information stalls and meet and greet CGRC Councillors and senior staff. It’s a day to dress up and shine. Cost is $5.00 per head and bookings are essential call into the CGRC Administration Offices in Wallendoon Street to book your ticket. 1300 459 689 RSVP 6 March.

Thursday 21 March: Morning Tea with the Councillors and Senior Staff at the CGRC Gundagai Council Chambers 10am. RSVP appreciated for catering purposes 1300 459 689 or call into the Gundagai Council Chambers in Sheridan Street.

Thursday 21 March: Author Talk and Morning Tea with Dr Anne Ring at the Alby Schultz Meeting Centre, Cooper St Cootamundra. 10.30am-11.30am. Bookings essential to Cootamundra Library on 69 402 200.

Friday 22 March:  Author Talk and Morning Tea with Dr Anne Ring at the Gundagai Library from 10.30am – 11.30am. Bookings essential to Gundagai Library on 69 440 270.

Anne is the author of Engaging with Ageing – What matters as we grow older and is an Australian health sociologist and freelance writer. Based in Coogee NSW, Anne is living and writing on the Bidjigal and Gadigal land of the Eora nation.
