POSITIONS VACANT:
Plant Mechanic – GUNDAGAI – Permanent Full Time
Applications are invited from interested persons for the above permanent full-time position of Plant Mechanic based at our Gundagai Depot.
The position is to assist the Workshop Supervisor to undertake maintenance, repairs, modifications, and fabrication of Council plant, as required, to ensure its preservation and optimum functionality.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensure that Manufacturer’s specifications are followed and adhered to when carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs.
2. Ensure that items of plant are in sound working order and safe for operation before they are returned to the working fleet.
3. Assist with the workplace training of apprentices, ensuring their training contract requirements are met.
Benefits:
– Salary Range is $1,194.37 – $1,397.18 gross per week
– 12% super guarantee levy payable by Council
– 9-day fortnight working arrangement.

PLANT OPERATOR – BACKHOE (F/T)
Applications are invited from interested persons for the full time vacancy of Plant Operator – Backhoe to be based at our Cootamundra Depot. Duties may also be required to be undertaken at our Gundagai Depot.
This position will be to operate plant, being the Backhoe, to undertake Council works as directed by the Works Supervisor and contribute to the manual labour pool within the Civil Works Department at Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Ensures plant is operated effectively and efficiently to achieve Council’s goals and objectives.
2. Ensures plant is maintained on a daily basis following manufacturer’s specifications and kept in a clean and tidy state.
3. Ensures plant is operated in a safe manner following safe work method statements and manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Ensures plant is operated safely when working in the proximity of overhead or underground utility services.
5. Cooperate and comply with Council’s WHS Policy and procedures.

– Salary range of $1,160.81 – $1,358.11 gross per week
– 12% super guarantee levy payable by Council

Essential Desirable Criteria – Plant Operator – Backhoe
WATER & SEWER ATTENDANT – GUNDAGAI (Full Time)
We are currently looking for a motivated Sewer & Water Attendant in Gundagai.
This position undertakes day to day operations, repairs and maintenance of Council’s Sewer & Water Treatment Plants, pump stations, reticulation systems, and reuse facilities, in accordance with environmental and health standards, and State legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensures the efficient operation of the Sewage & Water Treatment Plants, pump stations, reticulation systems and reuse systems, through ongoing monitoring, maintenance & repairs, and construction.
2. Ensures sewer sampling, testing, and recording is undertaken to meet required standards of treated and recycled effluent.
3. Ensures the grounds of the sewage and water Treatment Plants facility and related work areas are maintained and presented to required Council standard.
4. Ensure that all activity undertaken at Plant worksites is conducted safely.
5. Attend to sewer and water supply emergency calls and ensure customer requests are attended to promptly and efficiently.
6. Be available to respond to on-call activities on a rotating on-call roster.
7. Deliver quality customer service to both internal/external customers.
Benefits
– Salary range of $1,160.81 to $1,358.11 gross per week.

Essential Desirable Criteria – Water Sewer Attendant GUND
PLANT OPERATOR – GUNDAGAI (Full Time)
Applications are invited from interested individuals for a permanent full time Plant Operator role based at our Gundagai Depot. Duties may also be required to be undertaken at our Cootamundra Depot on an as needs basis.
This position will require the employee to operate various items of plant, undertaking Council works as directed by the Works Coordinator and contribute to the manual labour pool within the Civil Works Department.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures plant is operated effectively and efficiently to achieve Council’s goals and objectives, including patching truck when required.
- Ensures plant is maintained on a daily basis following manufacturer’s specifications, including patching truck when required.
- Ensures plant is operated and loaded in a safe manner following safe work method statements and manufacturer’s instructions, including patching truck when required.
- Ensures plant is correctly and securely loaded to weight and safety limits and driven according to road regulations.
- Complete all electronic/paper forms/books as required or directed.

- Salary range of $1,102.88 – $1,290.49 gross per week
- 12% super guarantee levy payable by Council
