BE BUS AWARE:

CGRC supports the Be Bus Aware Road Safety Initiative, Be Bus Aware is promoted directly after each school holiday period. The initiative reminds motorists, bus passengers, parents and pedestrians to take care around buses.

BUS SAFETY WEEK 17 – 23 FEBRUARY 2026

As part of Be Bus Aware, CGRC will be hosting events to remind all road users how to stay safe on & around buses.

Colouring Competition: Children aged between 3 & 12 years are encouraged to participate in a colouring competition: Posters will be distributed via all schools & available by clicking on the link below:

Bruce the Bus Colouring Competition Feb 2026

Prizes will be awarded in three age groups. 3 to 5 years, 6 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years. All completed colouring posters to be returned to CGRC Administration Offices or emailed to mail@cgrc.nsw.gov by Friday 20 February 2026. Please ensure the entry has a name, age and contact details included. Each entry must include a Bus Safety Message.

Bus Visit: Come along to the Cootamundra Library on 18 February and Gundagai Library on 19 February from 11am to meet a bus driver, & learn more about Being Bus Aware.
