CGRC is committed to working with our community to support and guide responsible pet ownership, advocate for animal welfare, and promote an ‘adopt, don’t shop’ approach. Council Rangers strive to find suitable homes for all companion animals that come into our care.

Animals can be released between the hours of 9.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday (Public Holidays excluded) by contacting the Office on 1300 459 689.

Diego: Male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix Dog

Diego, a gentle and sweet-natured one-year-old male dog who is ready to be the heart of a loving new family. Diego is timid yet affectionate, and his kind nature shines brightly through gentle actions. With his sister supporting his adjustment upon arriving at the shelter, he is a little shy at first but over time, he’ll reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and love.

He’s good on the lead, making your walks together peaceful and enjoyable. Diego is eager to follow you around and learn from you, as he is still quite young but full of potential. His love for treats is only matched by his love for cuddles. He knows his name, and when you call, he listens closely and promptly wags his tail in happy recognition. He can sit and seems eager to learn other tricks too!
