The Coota Connections Expo to be held on Tuesday 25th June 2024, has seen many local community organisations commit to showcasing their services.
Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is hosting and organising the event in the Cootamundra Town Hall in Wallendoon Street, from 10am to 2pm. This free event will see over 25 community organisations hold stalls with information about what their groups have to offer.
The event was held last year, at the Cootamundra Arts Centre, drew a large number of people who connected with clubs and associations, offering a variety of activities suited to all interests. Hosted then by the Cootamundra Community Services Network.
Council’s Tourism and Economic Development Officer Ms Leah Sutherland has been contacting local and regional organisations encouraging them to participate and grow the event from its beginnings in 2023.
Visitors will find information from a variety of sources and a cross section of interests. Counselling and mental health services, garden and history information, volunteering, Government assistance, with Services Australia (Centrelink/Medicare), NSW Police, CanAssist, MLHD Palliative Care, are a small cross section of the organisations attending.
CGRC mayor Cr Charlie Sheahan said he was delighted the uptake on stalls and participation from organisations has been so successful.
“This event will have information and displays from so many different organisations there will certainly be something for everyone. I encourage all residents across the region to pop in have a chat,” Cr Sheahan said.
