The newly renovated spaces have seen new carpets, painting, furnishings and new air conditioning systems installed.

The Youth Hub in Cootamundra houses facilities and areas for young people to enjoy and mix, these include:

  • Fuse ball table
  • Television
  • Computers with Wi-Fi for gaming or homework
  • Study area
  • Books and board games
  • Kitchenette
  • Switch

The Youth Hub is a space the communities Youth aged 12-18 to come and relax, study, and hang out and has been funded by Australian Government, Summer Bushfire Recovery Program.

The Hub can be used for school holiday events and will open some school days after school and some full days during school holidays and on some weekends.

The grand opening will commence at 10am with free face painting, sausage sizzle, fairy floss and a Mario Kart tournament with prizes to be won. All ages are welcome to attend the event.

A group of seniors on a Seniors Week bus tour last week were given a sneak peek of the space and all agreed it was a wonderful inclusion to the old Hospital building an important area for young to people to gather.

CGRC encourages young people to either contact the Youth & Inclusion officer, speak to the CYC or GYC members, engage with the respective Facebook pages and get involved in youth activities to ensure that Council can continue to improve on youth facilities and wellbeing.
