Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council will host two Australia Day ambassadors at the Australia Day in our Parks celebration on Friday 26 January 2024. Residents will have the opportunity to meet the ambassadors and listen to their inspiring stories at Jubilee Park in Cootamundra and Carberry Park in Gundagai. The annual Australia Day in our Parks kicks off from 8am with breakfast catered for by local Lions Club, free entertainment and the presentation of Australia Day awards.
The Ambassador for Gundagai:
Philip Cronin is currently Senior Director, Adobe APac Partner Sales Group since 2018 and has been working in the Asia Pacific area throughout his career. In his role, Philip is responsible for the Adobe APac Partner eco-system growth, success & engagement strategy on the Adobe Digital Experience platform across the region, working with global Partners such as Deloitte, Accenture, Publicis etc and with large local Partners in each country, delivering Personalisation at Scale Digital Experience platforms to drive client engagement. He was Director for Intel Asia Pacific & Japan, responsible for all region-wide sales activities in APJ, including Embedded Sales, Enterprise Solutions Sales, Channel Sales, Education Sales, non-hosted MNC sales, Software/Solution sales, Data Centre, Cloud, Big Data, IoT and Intel Online Sales Centre.
Prior to this role, Philip was Intel’s General Manager for Australia and New Zealand. (1997-2012) From 2004 he successfully led the A/NZ team to grow Intel’s business by 200%, positioning Intel as a leader in providing technologies for enterprise, government, retail, education, healthcare & other sectors. Philip has worked in Sales & Marketing roles, M&A JVs in India, was Managing Director for Intel Southeast Asia in 2006/7.
Under his leadership, Intel Australia became an advisor to the government’s $100 million Smart Grid-Smart City initiative. He was also an original member of WITEM (Women in IT Executive Mentoring) group.
Philip served as a trusted advisor to the Australian government, Chairman of the Australian Information Industry Association, (AiiA) from 2007-12, a member of the NSW advisory panel to advise the Minister for Finance and Services on ICT strategy, as Director of eclipse Innovation a business consultancy focused on business strategy, change management, advisory, sales strategies, marketing programmes and innovation.
The ambassador for Cootamundra:
Ethan Butson 28 holds an Advanced Science degree with a focus on Physics and Chemistry, and a master’s in medical physics from the University of Sydney. Currently training in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics, he is dedicated to treating patients to the highest standard of care and developing cutting-edge solutions for cancer treatment, leveraging his expertise in medical physics. A former finalist for the 2015 NSW Young Australian of the Year, Ethan also has a background in disability support. Actively engaged with The Water Gift, he utilizes the SAFE Sticker to provide safe drinking water to underserved populations, making a tangible impact one drop at a time. Additionally, as a member of the AUSSEF Steering Committee, Ethan contributes to STEM education, aiding Australian students in presenting at the Olympics of Science, the International Science and Engineering Fair.
