A large shade sail will be erected at the Gundagai Swimming Pool by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC).
The sail will provide much needed shade and protection from harmful UV rays over the shallow end of the Olympic Pool.
The footings for the sails at the swimming pool have been installed and work will commence on the 20 February. Work is expected to be completed within 2 to 3 days weather permitting in time for the regional swimming carnival on the 24 February.
The dome shaped sail is 18.3 metres in length and 7.5 metres wide and will provide protection to starting officials, timers and parents watching over young children.
The project has been funded by the LRCI- Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund.
