Cootamundra and Gundagai businesses can now get in front of CGRC with free marketplace platform.
VendorPanel Marketplace has been selected as a procurement platform to support CGRC’s local economic development initiative.
To increase the amount of opportunities and spend driven to the local economy, Council is launching a platform that makes it easier for Council buyers to identify local suppliers and invite them to submit quotes and proposals for their projects and works.
VendorPanel Marketplace is free for suppliers to use. Once registered, suppliers will receive invitations to quote on work across dozens of categories, from advertising to waste management. The platform manages all communication between Council buyers and suppliers, reducing administration, saving time and ensuring procurement good practice is followed
The economic benefits in other regional areas using Marketplace have been remarkable. An audited case study of 26 Councils using the platform found that in 84.4% of cases jobs were awarded to local suppliers. The study also found that local suppliers were competitive, delivering on average 9.74% savings to the Council.
In addition to VendorPanel, Council will also be introducing the “Vault Contractor” system. The Vault system is an online risk management platform that supports a broad range of risk management processes including a self-service portal for contractors to edit their WHS, environmental and insurance details. The system will also support Council in its commitment to worker safety.
In the next few weeks, invitations will be sent out to Council’s existing suppliers and to those suppliers who have previously expressed interest in doing business with Council.
