After a summer of drought, fire and storms, Gundagai community will have the opportunity to participate in a Community Wellbeing day.

A joint initiative from Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, Gundagai Neighbourhood Centre, Gundagai Visitors Information Centre, Gundagai Regional Enhancement Group (GREG) and local businesses the free picnic will be held in Carberry Park at Gundagai.

The Community Wellbeing day, will kick off from 11am and run through to 3pm on Sunday 29th March 2020, and will feature a free barbeque, free hot dogs, free music and free entertainment for children.

Residents are urged to come along and thank all the wonderful people in Gundagai who helped in a variety of capacities during the recent bushfires despite the ongoing drought.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate what community is all about and express our appreciation to all who made sacrifices and contributed in so many ways during the bushfires,” CGRC mayor Cr Abb McAlister said.

Bring along a picnic rug, a folding chair, and enjoy a get together that has been kindly funded by the Rural Resilience Program and Department of Primary Industries.

A community wellbeing day on Sunday 29th March in Carberry Park has been organised to thank those who contributed to the recent bushfires. The Gundagai community was very close to the action, with the town shrouded in smoke during the bushfires which devastated the Snowy Mountains area
