Tourism and Economic Development Officer Appointed

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council’s (CGRC) new Tourism and Economic Development Officer for Cootamundra, Ms Jeana Bell has been appointed.

A local girl from Coolac, Jeana is excited about her appointment and is looking forward to working with local businesses, community organisations and event organisers to promote Cootamundra and all the region has to offer.

“I’m excited about our region, we have so much to offer, for visitors or for people wishing to relocate,” Jeana said.

Jeana has been working at the Gundagai Visitors Centre for the last two years, and for the last six months has been in an acting role as Tourism and Economic Development Officer.

The responsibilities of the role include marketing, advertising and promotion of Cootamundra, as a destination for visitors and encouraging new business ventures. Assisting with event promotion and helping organisations with their events, to bring more people to the town and region.

Jeana said she wanted to meet with local community organisations to support them in promoting their events to a wider audience.

“We need to look at longer lead out times to effectively target potential visitors and locals alike, and promote our events in as many ways as possible. With the power of social media, and other forms of marketing I’m sure we can see bigger crowds coming to our local events, and visit the attractions we have on offer,” Jeana added.

Jeana will be based at the CGRC Cootamundra Administration offices in Wallendoon Street.
