The Old Mill in Gundagai is the oldest building in Gundagai and is a significant historical and cultural asset to the local community. Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is currently undertaking the process of developing a Master Plan and Business Case for the Old Mill. This Plan and Business Case will be used by CGRC to apply for grant funding for future development of the Old Mill into the future.
Council is seeking input from the community as part of the development of the Masterplan and Business Case to understand the community views surrounding any development of the Old Mill and what uses it could have in the future.
CGRC Manager Business Ms Linda Wiles said the development of the Masterplan and Business Case for the Old Mill was the opportunity for the community to have their say.
The Old Mill is such an important part of the fabric that makes up Gundagai’s history. It has survived against all odds. The Masterplan and Business Case are needed to demonstrate to funding bodies that the community have a clear vision and a pathway forward to ensure the successful development and future of this historical building. Council is urging community members to participate in the survey and or come along to the drop-in session,” Ms Wiles said.
There are several ways the community can let the Council know your thoughts either in person by attending the drop-in session on Wednesday 28 August from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Council Chambers. Or you can fill in the community survey that is available on the Council website or Facebook site. (Click here to contribute to the survey.)

Any redevelopment of the site will consider the potential community use of the site, as well as any commercially focused developments. It will also allow for ongoing maintenance and operating costs to be recovered and the opportunity to attract visitors to the area. Any redevelopment option will require significant funds which will be sourced by Council through grants and external funding sources.
