Seniors’ week across the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC), Local Government Area, (LGA) is shaping up to be over a week of special activities for the region’s seniors. Funded by the NSW State Government and CGRC.

In Cootamundra, a bus tour of Cootamundra’s new development sites and best attractions will be available for seniors on Wednesday 13th March. The tour will take in some of Cootamundra’s parks, new housing developments, and a visit to the new Youth Hub in the old Cootamundra District Hospital building. The tour will leave from the Town Hall entrance in Wallendoon Street at 10am and will culminate with a morning tea at the Bradman Birthplace Cottage.

Seniors High Tea event will be held at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club on 20th March. The theme Glitz and Glamour encourages seniors to get dressed up and enjoy guest speakers which include Catherine Pratt from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, a meet and greet with Councillors and senior staff from CGRC, entertainment provided by Knox, and seniors information stalls. 

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited and should be directed to the CGRC administration office in Cootamundra. A small charge for both activities applies.

In Gundagai the week begins with The Kapooka Army Band providing a free concert at Mirrabooka following the Gundagai Producers Market on Saturday 9th March at 1.00pm. A tour of the South Gundagai cemetery on Monday 11th March followed by morning tea at the Gundagai Library. Tuesday 12 March the Gundagai Library will conduct basic android and Iphone mobile phone workshops.

NSW Premier’s Senior’s Gala Concert will be live streamed at the Gundagai District Services Club on Wednesday 13 March from 2.45pm.  Thursday 14 March will see the opportunity for seniors to enjoy lunch and entertainment at the  Sheridan Room the guest speaker will be Catherine Pratt from Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

 Other activities include a bus trip to play croquet in Cootamundra, Trove Family history at the library, morning tea Meet and Greet with Councillors and senior staff at the Gundagai Council Chambers and an author talk and morning tea with Dr Anne Ring at the Library.
