REHAB WORK FOR COOPER LANE COOTAMUNDRA

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) will commence rehabilitation work in Cooper Lane Cootamundra this week. The work will commence from 6 February 2023 and will be completed in early April (weather permitting).

From this week, the lane which runs parallel to Cootamundra’s main street Parker Street, will be closed periodically to allow the work to be untaken. Retailers and businesses that access the lane for parking and deliveries are asked to notify employees and delivery drivers and put in place alternative arrangements.

The rehabilitation work will deliver a smoother and safer surface for both pedestrian and local business traffic. Underground services work has been undertaken in the past, leaving a rough trafficable surface with large potholes and cracks in the road carriageway. Post remediation will see a new laneway surface and be aesthetically pleasing to the eye whilst delivering an upgraded road pavement.

The first section of work commencing on 6 February will see the western side of the kerb removed and replaced. From the 27 February the eastern side of the kerb will undergo the same removal and replacement. From the 20 March the existing pavement/roadway will be removed and replaced with new seal, signage and line marking.

Where possible the lane will be temporarily opened to allow deliveries from the 21 February until 26 February and from 13 March to 19 March.

The work schedule is subject to weather conditions and supply chain performance.

Residents and business owners that will be affected by the work have been notified in writing by Council.
