SECURITY AND SAFETY IMPROVED AT TRANSFER STATIONS

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is in the process of implementing upgrades to the existing transfer stations around the villages of Muttama, Coolac, Nangus and Tumblong, as part of Council’s commitment to providing efficient waste management services.

These upgrades will improve safety and security at the sites with the installation of electronic entry systems, automated gates and upgraded CCTV equipment. By implementing these changes residents will receive improved services through the user-friendly automatic gate entry system. The improvement will bring an expected reduction of illegal dumping at these sites and will provide a cleaner and safer facility, ensuring supplied services meet residents’ needs. The remote CCTV monitors the type and quantity of waste disposed at the transfer stations.

The new entry system is expected to be in place by mid-December.

Existing key holders will be required to fill out an application to exchange their existing registered key for an electronic tag at Council’s administration offices. Initial tags will be free of charge to authorised key holders.

New applications and replacement of lost or stolen tags will incur a fee of $75.00.
