CGRC ENCOURAGES SPORTING GROUPS TO APPLY FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE REGIONAL SPORT FACILITY FUND

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is encouraging local sporting bodies to apply for funding through the Regional Sport Facility Fund.

The NSW Government has committed $50 million to the Regional Sport Facility Fund over two-years, helping create spaces and facilities that enable communities to enjoy and take part in sport.

CGRC may be able to assist local sporting groups to apply for the funding, and can offer a project management service for large and complex projects.

To attract investment into projects that will ultimately appropriately service the community and also reduce Council’s asset management burden, we encourage groups to get in contact with Council early to discuss their planned projects.

All groups currently utilising Council facilities or involved in their management will shortly receive a copy of recently adopted policies and procedures to help guide their interactions with Council around grant applications.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for sporting bodies and groups to apply for funding, with Council’s assistance to realise their aspirations and future proof their sporting facilities and infrastructure,” CGRC mayor Cr Abb McAlister said.

Executives for local sporting groups should contact Council for more information or check out the NSW Sport website: Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund | NSW Government
