Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) has installed Community Recycling Centre (CRC) small drop off stations at the Council offices in Cootamundra and Gundagai for residents to dispose of items such as batteries, fluoro globes, smoke detectors, mobile phones, and accessories.
The bright orange boxes are in the foyer of the administration office in Wallendoon Street Cootamundra and at the Council Chambers in Sheridan Street Gundagai. Residents are also encouraged to pick up the small battery recycling box for their homes to ensure the safe disposal of batteries.
Residents are also encouraged to visit the full CRC located at the Cootamundra Waste Transfer Station and Gundagai Landfill and Recycling Centre, where large items such as gas bottles, paint tins, electronic waste, car batteries and oil can be disposed of free of charge.
Many of the above items can be reused and recycled if processed correctly. Recycling helps our environment saving water, energy, and natural resources.
The CRC program is conducted by REROC and is funded by the NSW EPA.
