Shopping in Gundagai will bring with it an added bonus this year with a promotion that launched yesterday (Tuesday 1 December 2020). Shoppers who spend $25 or more in participating Gundagai stores will receive a free entry to a win a $1000 “Why Leave Town” gift card. The prize has been donated by the Gundagai Regional Enhancement Group (GREG). The Why Leave Town gift card provides a unique and convenient gifting solution while also supporting local businesses and can be redeemed for goods and services at participating stores across the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) Local Government area. Drawn on the 23rd December at 12pm by CGRC mayor Cr Abb McAlister it’s an incentive for all to shop locally. The promotion also includes Sheridan Street Late Night Shopping, where participating stores will open on Wednesday evenings for the convenience of local shoppers.

GREG have been busy organising the Christmas Lights competition, with some great cash prizes up for grabs in categories that include – 2 x $ 250- for Gundagai township residences, 1 x $250- for the villages & 1 x $250- for businesses. The $1000 prize money has been donated by GREG. Entry forms are available from Gundagai Visitors Centre and via the link on Gundagai Local Facebook page. The competition opened yesterday 1 December. Entries will be taken up to the close of business (5pm) on 15 December 2020. With judging to take place on the evening of the 15th December 2020. This great incentive will encourage all to get into the spirit of Christmas and be a delightful facet for people of all ages to enjoy.
