The 900 metre dash to the nearest toilet will soon be a past memory, for shoppers and visitors to Gundagai’s main street, Sheridan Street.
Rising from the ground is the new public toilet amenities block, on the corner of Sheridan and Byron Streets, with roof trusses put in place this week.
The construction of the project has seen extensive relocation of underground services new plumbing and drainage installed.
The public toilet project is funded by a $150,000 Stronger Communities Fund grant (SCF). The SCF is an initiative of the NSW State Government and administered by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council in Gundagai.
