Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is currently calling on feedback from residents to contribute ideas and aspirations for the review of the Community Strategic Plan.

The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) 2022-2032 was implemented in 2022 after extensive community consultation. The CSP is the highest level of Strategic Planning undertaken by local council and identifies the main priorities and aspirations of the community. The CSP provides Council with a clear set of objectives to achieve the community vision and sets the ten-year plan for the future. The review will ensure that Council is on track and is capturing the future vision that reflects the local area and lifestyle identified in the 2022-2032 CSP.

The feedback stands commenced in Cootamundra on Tuesday 21 January, with Muttama and Coolac on 23 January, and will continue within the communities of the LGA until the 4 February.

The CSP review feedback can be assessed online should residents find they cannot attend the feedback stands. A survey and comments forms are available on the CGRC website at  www.cgrc.nsw.gov.au/community-strategic-plan-csp-review-2025

The feedback sessions in Cootamundra, Coolac and Muttama saw good attendance with very constructive feedback given. A further feedback stand will be held in Cootamundra on 6 February 2025 at the Cootamundra War Memorial Library from 12 noon to 3pm.

CGRC mayor Councillor Abb McAlister encouraged all resident to participate.

“The Community Strategic Plan ensures Council is meeting the needs and wants of our community. It outlines the communities long term vision, values, aspirations, and priorities.

It establishes the community’s vision for the local government’s future, including aspirations and service expectations. Drives the development of local government area/place/regional plans, resourcing, and other informing strategies, for example workforce, asset management and services, and will ultimately be a driver for all other planning. This review will ensure that Council is still on track to deliver what the community saw as a priority or if the community has shifted focus on what may have been priorities back in 2022.

I encourage all to either attend a feedback stand or get online complete the survey and the online comment form, this is the opportunity for all residents to tell us what is important to them,” Cr McAlister said.
