Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council has formally adopted its 2026–2030 Delivery Program, including the updated 2026/27 to 2029/30 Operating Budget, the revised Long Term Financial Plan, and the 2026/2027 Operational Plan, at the last Ordinary Council meeting.
These key documents set a clear direction for Council’s priorities, services and projects over the coming years. The Delivery Program outlines Council’s strategic actions for the four-year term, while the Operational Plan details the specific activities, services and budget commitments for the 2026–2027 financial year.
The plans were first presented to Council on 28 April 2026 and endorsed for public exhibition. Community members were invited to review and provide feedback during the exhibition period, which ran from 29 April to 26 May 2026.
During the meeting, Councillors also considered Fees and Charges, including those for Cootamundra Town Hall. Following discussion focused on encouraging greater community use of the facility, Council unanimously supported a motion from Councillor Kelly to reduce Town Hall hire fees by 50 per cent.
Mayor Abb McAlister said the adoption of the Delivery Program and Operational Plan reflects both Council’s long-term vision and the valuable input received from the community.
“We thank our community members who took the time to review the draft documents and provide feedback. Their input helps ensure our plans reflect local priorities and expectations,” Cr McAlister said.
“The adopted Delivery Program and Operational Plan provide a clear and responsible roadmap for delivering essential services, infrastructure and community initiatives across the region.”
The Delivery Program and Operational Plan outline key focus areas including infrastructure delivery and maintenance, community services, financial sustainability, and organisational efficiency.
All submissions received during the public exhibition period were carefully considered before the documents were finalised for adoption.
