The Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council has endorsed the public exhibition of its Draft 2026–2030 Delivery Program and Draft 2026–2027 Operational Plan, inviting community feedback on the key documents that will guide Council’s activities, priorities and spending.
At the Council meeting held on 28 April 2026, it was resolved that the draft plans—incorporating the Long-Term Financial Plan (LTFP), annual Budget, Revenue Policy and Fees and Charges—be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.
Council plays a vital role in delivering a broad range of services to the community, while also maintaining and developing essential infrastructure such as local roads, footpaths, and water and sewer networks, alongside its regulatory responsibilities. These draft documents outline how Council intends to deliver these services and meet community expectations over the coming years.
Key Updates to the Delivery Program
A number of amendments have been made to the Draft 2026–2030 Delivery Program, including:
Additions:
- Investigating potable water supply improvements to support future growth, sustainability and stability in the Cootamundra township.
- Continuing partnerships with government agencies and the community to secure funding, plan activities and undertake works to support the regeneration of Morley’s Creek.
- Delivery of an annual heavy road patching program.
- Undertaking town drainage modelling and a system review to assess infrastructure capacity and better manage minor flood events.
Changes:
- Revising a proposed cultural project to investigate the feasibility of a Sporting Walk of Fame celebrating local stories, replacing the previously proposed art and sculpture trail.
- Progressing the Wallendbeen Silo Art Project to the concept and detailed planning stage to support a future Expression of Interest process.
About the Plans
The Delivery Program outlines the principal activities Council will undertake over four years to achieve the goals set out in the Community Strategic Plan (CSP). It is reviewed annually to ensure priorities remain achievable and aligned with community needs. The current Delivery Program was adopted on 24 June 2025.
The Operational Plan details the specific actions, projects and budget for the 2026–2027 financial year. It includes Council’s annual budget, capital works program, revenue policy and fees and charges, all aligned with the strategic directions of the CSP.
