An ornamental Cherry Blossom Tree has been planted in Gundagai’s Carberry Park in memory of Genevieve Reardon (Carberry). The tree and plaque were put in place this week by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council Parks and Gardens staff.

The tree replaces an older tree that had to be removed due to disease. With the development of the new playground now complete Genevieve’s tree could be replaced and stands proud facing Sheridan Street.

Parks and Gardens staff have completed the garden beds along Otway Street which house the rose bushes that were removed from the front of the visitor’s centre. The roses are showing signs of being happy in their new spot, with new shoots and prolific leaf growth.

Future plans for the popular park include the installation of reflection benches.
