Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) is currently calling for community input into a Recreational Needs Study. Council is working with consultants, Tredwell Management, to undertake the study. This study will contribute to a plan that will provide strategic direction for sport and recreation over the next ten years.

CGRC mayor Cr Abb McAlister has asked that all members of the community to have their say at workshops across the region or via an online survey.

“We need your local knowledge. We need your help to better understand the current and future recreation and sporting needs of our community. Come and share your views and knowledge at one of the workshops Council has organised or visit Council’s website and undertake the online survey,” Cr McAlister said.

The community workshops will be held at the following venues:

COOLAC / ADJUNGBILLY Monday 6th May 6 – 7:30pm Coolac Memorial Hall.

MUTTAMA Tue 7th May 6 – 7:30pm Muttama Memorial Hall.

WALLENDBEEN Wednesday 8th May 4.30 – 6pm Wallendbeen Memorial Hall.

STOCKINBINGAL Wednesday 8th May 6.30 – 8pm Elwood’s Hall.

TUMBLONG Thursday 9th May 6.30 – 8pm Tumblong Hall.

COOTAMUNDRA Tuesday 14th May 6:30 – 8pm Stephen Ward Rooms Cootamundra Library, Wallendoon Street.

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council recognises the importance of providing a vast range of recreational activities within the region. A range of existing recreation opportunities are already offered, providing numerous options for residents and visitors to participate in a wide range of activities. However, the CGRC want to make well-informed decisions and effectively plan for the future provision of all Council’s recreational facilities.

An online survey is also being undertaken, where residents and community/sporting organisations can participate. The online survey seeks views and insights to gain a more detailed understanding of what recreation facilities residents use, how they use them and why they think these opportunities should be provided in the community. Survey responses will be accepted until midnight of the 26th of May 2019 and can be undertaken by visiting Community Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Cootamundragundagairecreation for the Community Survey and the Club Survey can be undertaken on: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Cootamundragundagairecreationclubs
