In 2025\, 236 people were killed on rural & regional NSW roads\, which was 17 more lives lost than in 2024. Every fatality is a tragedy that affects families\, workplaces & entire communities.

DESCRIPTION:Murrumbidgee Landcare Incorporated\, in partnership with Gundagai Bushcare Group & Dean Freeman (Local Land Services Cultural Burn Officer & Gugga Collective representative)\, has applied to conduct an ecological burn on Council-managed land below the Mt Parnassus Lookout. A draft burn plan & mapping have been prepared & lodged in consultation with Fire & Rescue NSW. The burn is proposed for Friday\, 21 August\, weather permitting\, as a demonstration of First Nations land management practices to support ecological outcomes. \nResidents near Mt Parnassus & North Gundagai may notice increased vehicle activity & smoke during the burn
