As part of the ‘Fit for the Future’ process, amalgamated Councils across the state have been appointed an Administrator to lead them to the first Local Government Election on 9 September 2017.
The Administrator for Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council is Mr Stephen Sykes.
Stephen has a diverse set of skills from previous experience in both the private and public sectors. He has been highly recognised for his policy and project coordination abilities, and is known for exploring options that are outside the square, encouraging creativity and excellence in a team environment.
Previously, Stephen was a Director at Orange City Council, managing a variety of divisions with responsibilities ranging from human resources to environmental services and governance. He is currently on the Ministerial Advisory Committee, providing support to the introduction of the Container Deposit Scheme in NSW.
Upon his appointment as Administrator, Stephen wrote an open letter to the community saying:
“I plan to spend as much time as I am able to out and about in the community and look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible in the months ahead, so if you see me in the street please come up and say hello.”
