Rural Lands Strategy

Council’s Rural Lands Strategy is kicking off in February and there will be two information sessions:

  • 14 February 2018 10-12pm at the Cootamundra Ex Services Club, and
  • 15 February 2018 10-12pm at the Gundagai District Services Club

The purpose of these information sessions are to let people know what’s going on and to gauge whether we have missed anything before we get started.

Everything is on the table, from broad acre cropping, market gardens, lavender farms, heritage chicken breeding, farm stays and so on. So if you have an interest in farming or permaculture, Council wants to hear from you. While this is a land use strategy, it isn’t just about zoning and development approvals, it’s about starting a conversation and sharing ideas on how to diversify existing farm enterprises and encourage startups.
